King Taksin The
Great’s Monument
At the heart of Muang Chanthaburi on Thaluang Road
opposite the old governor office, stands the salient majestic monument surrounded by ditch
to hold water for public boat rowing and for fish culture of provincial fisheries.Built in
1893, the building houses a bronze horse-ridding statue of King Tak Sin the Great together
with his 4-right-hand warlords: Phachiang-Nern, Luangphichai-Asa, Luangprom-Sena, and
Luangpracha-Sanei collectivelly constructed by the people of Chanthaburi for honoring the
memory of the Great King in selecting Chanthaburi as the place in gaining manpower, food
supplies, and armaments to liberate the country from Burma aggression. This monument
presently becomes a sealant banknote of Thai-20-Baht legally payable.





Catholic
Church


The church can be reached by turning right from Wat PhaiLom Intersection for around 1
kilometer. The church is in Satri Manda Phithak School, Tambon Chantanimit. This catholic
church was built about 92 years ago by French builders during the time chanthaburi being
occupied by french. The interior is intricate with stained glass and murals of Christian
gods. The church is also called Wat Mae Phra Patisonthi Niramon as the most beautiful
catholie church in Asia

Cultural Center


Located on the campus of Ramphaiphunnee College,
The front part of building of the Chanthaburi Cultural Center is didicated for the King
Rama VII Queen Ramphaiphunnee’s 3-Building-Suan Kaew Palace later being given to be
Chanthaburi Teacher’s College. After the Queen passing away the Teacher’s College has
renovated the 3-building place as, the special memorial place of her stay in Chanthaburi.
One part of the building is arranged as the museum with a collections of different items
in commemoration of the Queen. And, another part is deicated for collections of accient
items collected from different lcations of Chanthaburi. Also, there is a part arranged as
the Cultural Center. The Ministry of Education once as for permission to the Teacher’s
college in the name of Ramphaiphunnee Teacher’s College after the Queen’s name. At
present, the College is remaned Rajaphat Ramphaiphunnee Institute. Normally, the Institute
is open every day, including. Holidays, 8:30 AM to 16:00 PM for general public and
visitors to visit.
